The university of Potsdam and the German Anti Doping Agency organised the launch event in Bonn.
Key stakeholders were introduced to the SAFEYOU TOOL, like the representatives of McFit and FitX (German Gyms) as well as representatives of sports association (German skiing association, German Association for disabled Athletes). Also representatives of “Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln” (Sport university cologne), “Kölner Liste”, “Doping Opfer Hilfe Verein“ and „Bundesamt für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte“ also participated. All guests received a gym bag with pens, USB sticks and notepads in Safe You design.
The event started with the welcome notes of BISp (German Institue for Sport Science) and NADA (National Anti Doping Agency). Mr. Baumgarten presented study results of a project with the BISp and Prof. Brand presented the Safe You results. Markus Böhmer, an expert on doping in recreational sports, gave his speech about his experiences as consumer, dealer and victim of using PEAS and Prof. Brand finally presented the the Safe You tool. A thorough discussion followed on the prevention of doping use in recreational sports. Participants provided insightful feedback to the content, usability and effectiveness of the tool.
