12/6/2018. SAFEYOU team member Dr Lambros Lazuras (Associate Professor in Social Psychology, Sheffield Hallam University) organized and delivered the first Sheffield Forum for Clean Sports under the auspices of the Sheffield Institute for Policy Studies (SIPS).
This initiative recognized the complex and multifaceted nature of doping use across all levels of sports, and promoted open public dialogue about doping prevention and control. The forum specifically addressed the grey areas in performance enhancement, the role of nutritional supplements in anti-doping, and a behavioural science approach to doping prevention. The event was well attended by sport science students, academics working in sports and social policy, and elite competitive athletes, and was highly disseminated and positively commented in social media.
Dr Lazuras presented project SAFE YOU and explained how the project to tackles doping through evidence-based education.
